hi ate zsa! i just read your journal. how you narrated your experience was totally riveting! it was like experiencing a virtual safari tour! the photos are awesome - aside from writing, you (and zia, too!) also have a talent in capturing picturesque moments with your cam.
south africa is really worth the long travel! it's good that singapore airlines provide really good service. when i went to buenos aires via johannesburg and cape town, i took malaysia airlines and the experience on board wasn't as good.
afrikaans do have an accent that's kinda' difficult to comprehend. i had a brief encounter with a few of them and it was tough, hehehe...
the khayas looked exquisite! something that i wouldn't expect in a natural reserve. you were like in two different worlds at the same time! you got to experience the beauty of nature and enjoy the comforts of a plush accommodation!
pareho pala tayo, ate z, i get some kind of paranoia everytime im in a new and strange environment. blame it on the media who are fond of showing awful stories or call it sixth sense, hehehe...but don't get me wrong. i do love animals! (except for crocs and other reptiles! ugh!) just being cautious.
aww, monkeys are cute but they do bite! the little sister of a friend of mine was badly bitten on her cheek as she passed by a tree where the monkey was! she had to undergo plastic surgery to repair the wound...
anyhow, i guess one important thing that we all can learn from taking safari trips, as you said it, is respect for the animals right to enjoy life in their own habitat...
thanks again for sharing, ate z and for helping us learn to appreciate nature's beauty at its purest!
